Does my child need to know how to swim?
4-8: we welcome all levels of swimmers, does not need to know strokes
9 and older: must have basic floating and treading water skills, be able to swim the length of the pool (any stroke), does not need to know all the strokes
Why do we have to volunteer? And how much?
It takes a lot to orchestrate a swim meet. Volunteering is essential to running a swim meet. You are required to do 4 shifts/family. A shift is half a meet.
Can I opt out of volunteering and still be on the swim team?
Yes. You can pay $200 opt out fee and we will schedule subs for your shifts.
Or you can sign up for 4 shifts, and pay a sub $30/shift from our sub list on the website to work your shifts
My child will miss practice for VBS (camp, vacation), is this a problem?
We do not take attendance. We understand and encourage swimmers to take full advantage of summer opportunities.
I have a 4-year-old that can already do the basics, can they join the swim team?
The league only allows 5 (by May 31st) to compete in meets. 4 year olds joining the swim team for practice can be assessed individually to join practices, but not compete in meets.
